THE SEMINAR

THEORY OF DUALITY

DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICAL METHODS IN PHYSICS

On the 22nd of March 2018, at 10:15 a.m.

Daniel Siemssen (Universität Wuppertal)

will give a talk on

"Evolution equations"

Abstract
I will present the abstract theory for the integration of non-autonomous (linear) evolution equations d/dt u(t) = A(t) u(t) in a Banach-space setting. In particular, I will discuss the construction of the evolution operator (also called the time-ordered product). Some applications to PDEs in physics will be given. If time permits, I will also remark on the quasi-linear case.

The seminar takes place on Thursdays from 10:15 a.m. to 12:00 in the room 2.23 of the main building of the Faculty of Physics (the 2nd floor), Pasteur Str. 5, Warszawa.
